Coordination Specialist
Pay Grade: 6

Gift of Life Michigan is currently accepting applications for the position of Coordination
Specialist for the midnight shift.

This full-time position requires a minimum of 1 year’s experience in the medical field, college background desirable. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, ability to make independent decisions, have a good understanding of medical terminology and above average computer skills.

This position is responsible for, but not limited to, coordination of tasks related to organ donation, procurement and allocation, primarily using telephone, and computer software programs.

This position also requires on-call and weekend shift coverage.

HOSPITAL DEVELOPMENT ASSOCIATE
Salary Grade: 9
Salary Range: min. 19.38 – max. 26.65

Gift of Life Michigan has two (2) immediate openings for a Hospital Development Associate I. These positions are located in the Southwest and North Central regions of Michigan.

This position works closely with assigned hospitals and our clinical staff regarding organ and tissue donation. The incumbent must be able to work outside normal business hours and have an unrestricted driver’s license. Along with a Bachelors degree and a minimum of three years experience in marketing, sales or customer service. Experience in a health care setting is preferred and nurses are encouraged to apply.

Candidates should possess advanced computer skills, excellent problem solving and data analysis skills along with demonstrated verbal and written skills.

Donation Coordinator I - Part-time

This position will be responsible for day-to-day interaction between Michigan hospitals and Gift of Life Michigan to engage their support of Gift of Life Michigan’s program goals and objectives, respond to potential organ and/or tissue donor referrals for on-site evaluation, participate in frequent huddles with care providers throughout the donation event, provide a supportive atmosphere for donor families and obtain consent for organ and tissue donation, and other duties as assigned. Approximately five call shifts per month, including one weekend shift, are required.

Level I will also facilitate the general activities required throughout the donor recovery period under the direction of the medical director, resource manager, and the other surgical recovery team members present in the operating room.

Qualifications: Minimum of 3 years of full time experience in a hospital setting or 18 months prior experience with an organ procurement organization is required. Critical care experience is a plus. In addition, a licensed Registered Nurse, a licensed Physician’s Assistant, or a Bachelor’s degree in Science, or applicable experience and related training.
